Chiropractic

Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your nervous system controls the function of every cell, muscle, tissue, organ, and system of your body.  When bones misalign they can cause pinching off of a nerve, leading to muscular spasm, pain, and joint restriction.

The chiropractic approach is to detect, reduce, and prevent these bone misalignments from happening, thus preventing muscular, nerve and joint dysfunction.

The chiropractic profession is the largest in natural and preventative health care and has been for the last 100 years!

Orthotics

Foot, ankle, knee, hip or lower back pain may signify that   you may be a candidate for orthotics. Dr. James will discuss with you biomechanics of gait and foot conditions. Also she will see if your performance could be enhanced or injuries prevented by the use of  orthotics and neuromuscular re-eduction

Rehabilitation

The individual bones of the body are held in place by muscles and ligaments. Proper motion and position of these bones are crucial for proper nervous system function, correct posture and good health. Exercises and repeated maneuvers help re-pattern and condition these connective tissues. Not only must these tissues be healthy, but the nervous system must coordinate all the minute details of even the easiest of motions. We are able to help you chose the proper exercises for your condition, monitor and fine tune your performance.

Sports Injuries

Our practice treats most common sports related injuries. Dr. James currently is the physician for the San Francisco Gaelic Football Association.  She not only cares for them on the field during the games, but has gone with them to Colorado for the United States National finals.

 rst Visit: The Complete Examination
On your first visit, like most medical practices that you have been to in the past, you will be required to complete a pre-examination questionnaire
Hippocrates said "First Look to the Spine for Ailments".  Chiropractic Medicine works through rebuilding, and strengthening the physical structure of the patient.  By manipulating through movement of the spine, massage of the muscles, or application of heat and ultrasound waves the structure of the body is brought back into alignment, and blood flow is restored, proper nerve signals are re-established and health along with the function of every cell in your body is enhanced.

First Visit what to expect.

When you arrive, you will see that you are surrounded by friendly and healthy people willing to help you.  You will be given some standard paperwork for insurance and patient registration.  This gives up the information that we use to help understand all of you, your health and your background.  If you have been injured at work or if you are just seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, your information will  help  us  meet your special needs.

Then you will meet the Doctor.  You will go over with her your complete history including diet, nutrition and exercise as well as any issues that you are specifically wanting to discuss.  We will also go over you nutrition, do a thorough orthopedic and neurological examination based upon your history and needs.

During your treatment, over time, progress evaluations and re-examinations take place to allow us to understand how better to fine tune your treatment and know when we have reached our goals.

Subsequent Visits, Signing In
When you arrive, Lori, our office manager, will briefly ask you about any current condition or questions that you may have, you will also initial your records.  You may then go to a treatment room where you may relax and prepare for your treatment.  When receiving hands on therapies you may be asked to either dress in a gown or be discretely covered by a sheet while receiving your treatment.

When you are finished, you may walk out with a relaxed glassy grin that is totally normal!
